Zany flavors is a dream become reality.....
Sharon grew up in the agriculture region of southern Ohio where she learned from her early years helping her grandmother can. She washed for hours it seemed, while her mom and grandmother put up their fruits and vegetables for the next year period. Just as generations before them had done. As Sharon got older her interest grew for preserving. Her mother and her were asked by the county agricultural fair to compete in the canning and preserves department. In preparing for competitions Sharon learned as she searched for recipes and creating them as her own that she was a true" foodie." Over the years of entries, they won many blue ribbons.
In 1985 the Sniders moved to North Carolina and had four children; but only one was a "fellow foodie," and that was Zane. He was born with a serious heart defect, called hypoplastic left heart syndrome. He was a bit limited in his activity, but has he grew older he began to show an interest in the kitchen. Like his mom, he loved cooking and tweaking the recipes to make them his own. He talked about going to cooking school when he became well enough.
So, the dream was born with his use of peppers and spices; blended into unique flavors. Sadly, he passed away at the age of 19 in 2015. This gave us the direction for this new chapter of our lives without him. What you are tasting now is a five-generation collection of recipes loved but improved by a couple of foodies. In keeping with Zane's direction, we will continue to look for and find new flavors and blends to bring Zane's dream into a reality. From the simple goodness of a country apple jelly to taste combinations that are out of the ordinary, WELCOME TO ZANY FLAVORS!
